New Milford (incorporated 1712) is a New England town in Litchfield County, Connecticut County, Connecticut, United States north of Danbury, Connecticut on the Housatonic River. The real-life home of "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House Blanding's Dream House" New Milford has also been a shooting location for many motion picture and television productions. It is the largest town in the state in terms of land area at nearly . The population was 28,671 according to the Census Bureau's 2006 estimates.In a study just performed, 3% of people in New Milford, Connecticut have parents considering going into a retirement home specializing in congregate living.
